Snow Hill
This is the historic old Snow Hill
Cemetery where many of my ancestors and other relatives are buried.
It is located next to a 50-year-old Baptist Church, which replaced
an older church where my father's family attended services. My
Aunt Grace is one of the "movers and shakers" at the
Snow Hill Church. Snow Hill used to be a thriving little overnight-waystation
type of community for people travelling along "The Jefferson
Road" from Mount Pleasant to then bustling Jefferson, the
largest city in Texas at one point during the 1800s, now only
a "ghost" of its former self. In the following photographs
are various views of the area around Snow Hill.
