Blevins
This is the Blevins Cemetery just
north of Cason.
If you travel south on FM 1735 past
Lake Welsh, you will run into Highway 11 from Pittsburg to Daingerfield.
Turning left (east) for a couple of miles, you arrive in the village
of Cason. If you turn left (north) at the vacant Cason Store and
then turn left again (you can't get "lost"), then you'll
run into County Road SE 35. Turning right, this road goes north
to the Blevins Cemetery, Lake Welsh and Snow Hill. The eastern
access road to Lake Welsh (Gallery 46)
is the only left (west) turn north of Blevins. This Blevins Road
more or less parallels the eastern shore of Lake Welsh, often
less than a mile away from the lake. If you continue straight
along this road, you will cross the north Lake Welsh causeway
and eventually run into Highway 49 between Mount Pleasant and
Daingerfield, the intersection where my Aunt Grace Russell Richards
has lived for many, many years. From Aunt Grace's farm to Snow
Hill is where most of my early ancestors settled upon their arrival
in Texas in the 1830s and 40s. This and the following photographs
are various views looking north along the Blevins Road.
