Cedar Creek Slough
This is the Cedar Creek Slough overflow
area just behind the church.
This is young Zack Long, who attended
the 2002 Decoration Day. Zack is holding his machete at approximately
the average level of the water at this point in the reservoir.
Note that the tops of literally thousands of trees will be sticking
up, like ugly rotting stumps, out of the water level of the reservoir!
Young Cole Ray Shankle, in the exact
center of the above photograph, is standing at the bottom of the
slough area. Oftentimes this area is filled with water, and the
sheer force of the flooding has knocked down many old trees already.
