Evergreen
The above photo shows Long Lake
Slough east of the historic Confederate Negro Community of Evergreen,
where an old slave cemetery is located. This area will be threatened
with periodic flooding if the abominable new reservoir is permitted.
The following photos show various scenes along Texas Highway 71
around Evergreen, which is located about halfway between Sugar
Hill and US Highway 259. The legendary Sulphur
River Sasquatch has been sighted near this highway.
