There are 88 photographs in 15 galleries. The 44 photos in Galleries 34-41 were taken on 12 November 2002; the remaining 44 were taken on 14 November. This year has been one of our most memorable in terms of fall foliage with its near-perfect weather and temperatures, and I am pleased to be able to share these images with you. If someone wishes to use any of them at another website, please let me know in advance and place a link at that website to the page from which the photo(s) originated. Thank you.
Here in Northeast Texas our primary fall colors are yellow, gold and orange. Although our colors are not so vivid and spectacular as those that might be found along the East Coast, our pastel tones can nevertheless be breathtaking. For every photo that I have selected here, I could have taken a thousand more. It was often difficult to decide exactly which scene to photograph. And the lighting varied somewhat from place to place, so the intensity of the colors varied. My photos, even as nice as they are, simply do not do justice to this year's beauty.
The photos in Galleries 40-45 are pertinent to the "potential" Marvin Nichols II Reservoir on White Oak Creek. Comments about this reservoir can be found in those galleries. Galleries 37 and 46-48, even though they do not concern the Sulphur River or White Oak Creek basins, are placed here for purely artistic reasons. Autumn colors are always a lovely show in these areas, as well as at Daingerfield State Park, which I didn't photograph. However, if you've never seen Daingerfield State Park at the peak of the fall colors, you have missed a magnificent sight indeed.
Enjoy the show! I would suggest that you set aside an hour or two, pour yourself a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, relax and try to view all the images in sequence for maximum effect.
